In some cases, you may not achieve the results you hoped for from rhinoplasty. You may even have additional functional and aesthetic problems following the procedure. Revision rhinoplasty is essentially the restart button for your nose and it can correct any issues that have developed from a previous procedure and create the results you originally wanted.
A number of patients are interested in having a revision, but not everyone is a candidate. The best candidates for this corrective procedure are patients that have had a previous rhinoplasty with unsatisfactory results, have breathing difficulties, or experienced additional complications.
The revision procedure itself is similar to the original one. Following the surgery, you may experience some swelling, bruising, and discomfort for several days. Medication will be provided to help manage the pain. You must be cautious and protect your nose in the first few months of the recovery period. You must also avoid blowing your nose for at least one week following the revision.
You will fully recover from the procedure after one week, and you will be able to return to your work and regular routines. If you want to be evaluated and determine whether you are a candidate for revision rhinoplasty, please contact our office to schedule a consultation.
